Canes

Whipping canes are much different from walking devices used on the street. Fetishists who are well-experienced in flagellation and corporal punishment, including flogging, paddling and spanking, may graduate to caning. Using a cane during impact play requires extreme accuracy, as they are most likely the most intense and potentially dangerous devices for flagellation.

Canes are usually very thin in size, usually the diameter of a pen, and more flexible. Many canes are crafted out of lightweight wood, rattan, or fiberglass, and measure around 3 to 3.5 feet in length. Handle materials vary from rubber, leather or fabric. Because of the thinness of the striking area, combined with the weight of the cane as well as its flexibility, some strokes may be painful when delivered, and can often leave marks. It is important to provide a bit of ‘breathing room’ for your submissive partner when incorporating canes into BDSM play, while they are recovering from the initial wave of pain. Canes are not for the lighthearted, and should be used with the utmost caution during bondage scenarios.
